Monthly Outline

It didn't take me long to get tired of making a new list of songs every week for Singing Time. It's so much easier for me to make a Monthly Outline and throw in all the songs we'll be singing for the whole month. It also gives my pianist more time to practice since he can see the songs for the whole month. My outline isn't anything special but it's somewhere to start if you are making one. You can download the Word file if you like and edit it to make it your own.

Some things I like about the outline:
  1. There are plenty of wiggle songs to choose from, we only do a few each week, but I can rotate through them and choose whatever we are in the mood for.
  2. Reverent and Transition Songs are the songs we learned previous months. I can choose the one I feel we need more work on.
  3. Start/Stop Times are listed next to Opening Exercises, Singing Time and Sharing Time. This is handy for me to refer to and also for a substitute.
  4. I can customize the list of Review Songs for Junior and Senior Primary. For Junior I picked more songs that the new Sunbeams are already familiar with. For Senior I can pick from a wider variety of songs.
  5. We do the same Welcome and Birthday songs for the whole month. That might seem redundant but we spruce it up with the Birthday Box and the Hand Jive. Plus we can learn new songs this way just by singing them 4 weeks in a row.

  1. Thank you for posting this it gives me ideas. This is only my 5 Sunday as a chorister, and the wiggle song that the Jr Primary loves the most and only took singing it twice to learn it was "My Hands" Page 273. Thank you for your post.
